Search trusted car rental companies for available cars. You can quickly find the car that best suits your plans and budget.
Special rates are negotiated with leading car rental companies. That lets you find lower prices than booking directly.
We’ll take care of finding the lowest price for you, but here’s what you can do to make sure you get the best deal:
Prices generally rise when it gets closer to the starting date of your trip. Book ahead to save. Make changes or cancel for free up to 48 hours before pick-up.
See what previous customers have to say about the rental supplier and any issues they had. Choosing a company with a score of 8 or higher is recommended.
You will have to leave a deposit when you pick up the car. In the rental conditions, you can see how much it will be. Make sure you have enough credit available to cover it.
Avoid costly fees by knowing how much mileage is included in your rental and what the fuel policy is. Don't leave the car short of fuel; this can be costly.
To rent a car, you must present a valid driver’s license. In most cases, you must have held your license for at least one year. You will also need a credit card (or a debit card, where accepted) to pay for the rental and leave a deposit. After completing your booking, you’ll receive a voucher; bring this with you when collecting the car. If you’re renting abroad, an additional form of identification such as a passport may also be required.
The minimum age varies by country and rental supplier. In many European countries, and in U.S. states such as New York and Michigan, you can rent a car from age 18. However, in many other locations the minimum age is 21. Most suppliers also apply a Young Driver Fee for drivers under 25. This fee varies depending on the supplier and location, and is included automatically in the price when you search, making comparisons easier.
There are two key things to consider when selecting a supplier: customer reviews and rental conditions. Customers are encouraged to rate their rental experience after returning the car, so you can easily compare suppliers when booking. If service quality matters most to you, look for suppliers awarded the Excellent Car Rental Service badge, given to the top three suppliers in each location with an average rating of 8 or higher. Also review the rental conditions to ensure the supplier meets your needs.
Although it used to be difficult to rent a car without a credit card, many rental companies now accept debit cards. Major brands such as Avis, Dollar, and Hertz allow renters to pay and leave a deposit using a debit card, usually Mastercard or Visa. If you do not have a credit card, make sure to check the Payment Policy of the rental supplier before booking to confirm that debit cards are accepted.
You can modify or cancel your reservation for free at any time up to 48 hours before your scheduled pick-up time.
